Accelerations
The following is a list of the top 10 locations that have had their 7-day average increased over the last 3 days and appear to be accelerating. The first number is the acceleration, A, is determined by the location increasing by the formula

C3> = A(D3-D0)2 + C0
  • C3 is the Count at the last date
  • C0 is the Count 3 days before the last date
  • A is the acceleration displayed below
  • D3 is the Date of the last date
  • D0 is the Date 3 days before the last date
The second number in parenthesis is an attempt at normalizing the Least Square number used to find the acceleration and is calculated by

1 - (least squares) / (Y-C0)2)

which is a measure of how well the data fits the function. Note that the closer the number is to 1.000 the better the data matches the function.
